Frequently Asked Questions

Literati Tours is for travelers who are interested in exploring literary cultures around the world. Attendees should be open to new experiences, meeting new people, and trying new activities. They should be comfortable participating in walking tours, being part of a small group, and even trying new foods. They can go with the flow, be patient and kind to fellow travelers, and mindful of the culture of the places we visit.


Accommodation in a 4-star hotel for the duration of the trip. Price is based off double occupancy. If you are a solo traveler, please reach out to us directly for pricing. Upgraded rooms are often available - enquire about pricing. Breakfast at the hotel each morning. 


Activities, meals, and services listed in the itinerary including any accompanying admission fees, and guided activities. Alcoholic beverages are separate unless stated otherwise.


Airfare. Transportation from airport to hotel. Transportation from tour beginning and ending points. Public transportation passes will be provided depending on location. Tips and gratuity.  Anything that isn’t specifically mentioned in the itinerary including some meals, expenses during your free time, and travel insurance, which we recommend you purchase. 


Optional Outings listed on itineraries are not included in the price. There may be an additional fee or you would be required to pay at the destination. 


We will be staying in a 4-star accommodations near many of our tour sites. We do our best to ensure that the hotel is comfortable, is located close to many of the tour sites and stops, and provides amenities beyond the basic. You will receive the hotel name and location at least three months prior to the tour start. 


If you wish to stay additional nights at the hotel out of the date range you will need to reach out directly to the hotel. 


If you choose to stay at a different hotel the price remains the same and you will be in charge of meeting us at the tour locations and stops. 


The max number of people on the tour is 12, although we aim to be around 10. This allows us to make sure that we get to know one another and can move together as a group efficiently. It also allows us to have some special meals together. 


We require all of those attending to have their travel documents in order and to have health insurance with adequate coverage for overseas travel. 


To be in good enough health to be able to walk or get around on city streets for some of the day, each day. Many tours are in historical cities or towns that require attendees to navigate steps, uneven terrain, cobblestones, etc. We try our best to make the tours as accessible as possible.  


Literati Tours is designed for adults. We allow age 15 and up, but minors need to be accompanied by an adult. 


To follow the rule of law in the places we visit. 


We ask attendees to arrive in a timely manner for tour start times. 


To hold a spot on the tour 25% deposit. 


After making a Trip Deposit/Booking Reservation for a trip departing in more than 210 days, full payment is due 120 Days prior to Tour start date. Literati Tours will email reminders at least 3 days before full payment is due with a link to submit full payment and pay your balance due. 


If you make a Trip Deposit/Booking Reservation for a trip departing in fewer than 120 days, the balance of payment is due within 7 days from the date your Trip Deposit/Booking Reservation is received by us. 


If you make a Trip Deposit/Booking Reservation for a trip departing in fewer than 30 days, payment is due in full at time of booking. 


If full payment is not received when due, Literati Tours reserves the right to cancel your Trip Deposit/Booking Reservation. 


You can reserve your spot on a tour via deposit page. 


Literati Tours may take photographs, videos or use other media during the tour. We occasionally will use these for promotional purposes. Those wishing not to have their image or likeness used in promotional and advertising material related to Literati Tours must put this in writing and deliver to Literati Tours prior to the start of the tour. You can do this HERE or you can simply send us an email to info@literatitours.com.


 To cancel your Booking or Trip Deposit/Booking Reservation, you must email us your complete booking details at info@literatitours.com.


Cancelation fees will be applied per person, based on the date we receive written notification of your complete booking details and your request to cancel your Booking or Trip Deposit/Booking Reservation (a “Cancellation Notice”). 


Upon receipt of your complete Cancellation Notice, Literati Tours will effect a refund on the following schedule:


Days before departure date / Cancelation fee per participant

· 120+ days:  Entire amount paid, less $500 per person

· 61 – 119 days: Fifty percent (50%) of amounts paid

· 0 – 60 day: Zero percent (0%), i.e., no automatic refund


If Literati Tours is able to fill the spot for a Booking or Trip Deposit/Booking Reservation cancelled within the 60 day window, we may issue at our sole discretion a partial or full refund minus any non-recoverable expenses.
